AUTUMN_WINTER ’002 - ’003

Innovation in garment dyeing: Stone Island perfects a new garment dyeing technique under pressure at high temperature (5 atmospheres at 130 °C), which allows, for the first time, to dye polyester. This will open to Stone Island the opportunity to explore a whole new world of fibres and textile combinations. Garment dyed polyester jersey in a dark brown colour. Dark blue heat pressure over-print on the finished garment, using the sublimation printing technique in order to give movement to the surface and achieve a creased effect. Detachable hood in the same fabric and treatment, with white cotton elasticated straps. Detachable peached polyester microfiber quilted lining with polyester padding. The detachable lining is attached to the outer garment using a system of ties, adapted from those used in the sailing world.
