AUTUMN_WINTER ’002 - ’003

Innovation in garment dyeing: Stone Island perfects a new garment dyeing technique under pressure at high temperature (5 atmospheres at 130 °C), which allows, for the first time, to dye polyester. This will open to Stone Island the opportunity to explore a whole new world of fibers and textile combinations. Garment dyed polyester consistent fabric in a dark blue colour. Heat-pressed to define the contours of the piece. Polyester cloth collar lining. Details in white cotton that do not react to the dyeing bath. Detachable peached polyester microfiber quilted lining with polyester padding. The detachable lining is attached to the outer garment using a system of ties, adapted from those used in the sailing world.
