MESHES, the fifth section of the exhibition, illustrates the creations developed through the continuous nylon monofilament. The origin of this study is found in Serie 100, an experimental project on women’s wear that acted as an incubator for the countless explorations made by Stone Island in the world of monofilament textiles, from the enquires on water filtering materials to the meshes used in the construction industry. The symbol of this research is embodied by a sculpture, also made of nylon powder, created using the innovative technique of 3D printing.
